All Set for the Ouray Jeep Jamboree

JeepersblogHave you ever participated in a Jeep Jamboree? If you haven’t, you’re missing out on a fun opportunity to meet new people and fellow Jeep fans! These jamborees have remained a tradition since the early 1950s when pioneer Mark A. Smith spearheaded the inaugural jamboree and set a course to explore the Sierra Nevada Mountains via the Rubicon Trail. Once the one-time Jeep manufacturer Willys Motors became involved, the jamboree has continued strong.

This year’s Jeep Jamboree is coming to Ouray, Colorado! The jamboree will take participants across the soaring elevations of the San Juan Mountains including the various ghost towns and even the imposing Imogene Pass which, at just over 13,100 feet is among the highest driveable passes in the entire country. The jamboree has a three to eight trail rating which means it is considered demanding and therefore not suited to Jeep novices.

The Ouray Jeep Jamboree is taking place on September 13th through the 15th. Unfortunately, the trip is sold out but those who wish to potentially participate can add themselves to a waitlist. If the jamboree is beyond your level of expertise and you’d rather start getting your feet wet, we’ll be happy to help you get started.
