Now that the spring season has officially begun, you may be thinking about what Jeep trails to take on while the weather is warmer and the sights are absolutely gorgeous in and around Ouray. To help you get started, the following suggestions range from beginner to expert level trails that will leave lasting memories and plenty of picture-worthy moments.
Are you planning a trip to Telluride from Ouray? Imogene Pass is over 13,000 feet in elevation and is definitely a must. You’ll drive along Tomboy Road and come upon one of the many ghost towns, in this case, the Town of Townboy which was popular in the late 1800s. The views are incredible but the trail is reserved for those with plenty of experience.
Ophir Pass is an easier (read: moderate) experience yet it remains among the most gorgeous, located about eight miles south of Telluride. The top of the pass reaches over 12,500 feet and we can practically guarantee you will not be disappointed with the stunning vistas.
Have you ever seen a waterfall in person? If you haven’t, consider visiting Bridal Veil Falls, Colorado’s tallest free-falling waterfall. The waterfall is more than 350 feet tall and it is unquestionably a beautiful sight to behold.
