Spot the Wildflowers During Your Jeep Adventure

A major reason why people visit Ouray is because of the wildflowers. When wildflower season has arrived, the landscape turns into a lushly vivid display, reinforcing the natural beauty of Ouray, Colorado. One of the most exciting ways to admire the wildflowers is while on a Jeep and the following roads will provide a dazzling glimpse.

No Jeep trip in Ouray is complete without visiting Yankee Boy Basin. As one of the most frequently traveled areas, it’s a perfect spot to get a glimpse of Colorado’s official state flower known as the Columbine which stands near an assortment of other wildflowers.

Provided you have the experience and skills to navigate it, Black Bear Pass is another must visit. The western side of Black Bear Pass heads downwards towards neighboring Telluride and it’s only one way so it’s worth reminding drivers that it is treacherous. The eastern side, on the other hand, has a host of beautiful wildflowers to admire.

As the highest basin in the area, Imogene Basin is last in line when it comes to wildflower blooms. If you’ve missed out on other areas because of the late season, Imogene Basin may be your last chance to spot the wildflowers.
