Is 2020 the year you’ll be participating in a Jeep Jamboree? These are great opportunities to meet like-minded people and explore the sights! Such jamborees are a long-standing tradition that has persisted since the early 1950s when pioneer Mark A. Smith took the initiative to launch the first ever jamboree, setting a course through the Rubicon Trail to explore the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The jamboree has maintained an ardent following since Jeep maker Willys Motors became involved.
The 2020 Jeep Jamboree is once again being held in Ouray, Colorado! The jamboree will take participants through the towering elevations of the San Juan Mountains, the many ghost towns, and some of the most dizzying, challenging heights imaginable including the famous Imogene Pass found at more than 13,000 feet.
The Ouray Jeep Jamboree doesn’t begin until August 27 through the 29th but it’s never too early to get a feel for what it will be like. If the jamboree is a bit too challenging, pay us a visit at Ouray Mountain Adventures and we’ll help you with exploring some of the exciting, albeit less challenging trails in Ouray and beyond.
